Bloomington Tutors was founded in 2013 by Alex Weissman, a graduate student in IU's School of Informatics and Computing. Using his years of experience as a math tutor at the University of Maryland, Alex began working with IU students in finite math, calculus, and K201. He realized there was a great demand for personalized, one-on-one help, and that the resources provided by the university were simply not enough.

He soon partnered with Sarah Baghdadi, former member of Brighter Days Collective, to develop a business strategy. Sarah brought her expertise, from many years at DC's largest cooperatively owned and run business, to her new home at Bloomington Tutors. Together, we've grown into a large network of skilled tutors - each and every one personally evaluated and hand-selected by Alex and Sarah.

Alex brings over ten years of experience as a highly recommended tutor and his extensive technical understanding of math, engineering and computing. Sarah has been fundamental in managing the day to day needs of our customers and tutors.
